employers in the community. Oilfield services have a long an prosperous history
in Corpus Christi.
In addition to the port and oil and gas industries there are
several other major employers in Corpus Christi and the surrounding area. Corpus
Christi is home to a Naval Air Station, has a thriving healthcare and hospital
community, the Corpus Christi Army Depot, HEB stores, several major financial
services firms and banks and of course has a thriving and growing tourist
industry. In the surrounding Corpus Christi area employers such as Celanese and
