North Padre Island Birding
South Texas is one of the nations best birding regions. North Padre Island and Mustang
Island along with the cities of Corpus Corpus and Port Aransas offer several birding parks, boardwalks and of course seashore and wetland bird viewing locations.
In addition to migratory birds (hummingbirds, ducks, geese, sandhill cranes, whooping cranes) viewed at the fall and spring
migrations, North Padre Island and the surrounding regions are home to shoreline birds (terns, skimmers, seagulls), perching birds (mocking birds, doves, quail), birds of prey (osprey, red-tail hawk, marsh hark), wading birds (great blue heron, white heron, sandpiper), pelicans, and other types of birds.
On this page you will find maps, photos and videos for birding locations including
the Padre Island National Seashore.
