Seawall on the Island
Occasionally confused with the seawall in downtown Corpus
Christi the seawall on the island is quite different. Designed for
protection against storm swells for the hotel resorts and condominiums it
guards "the wall" is perfect for walking, bicycling, skating and more right
along the
Gulf of Mexico. Several hotel resorts and condos at the
seawall offer access to the beach in front of the wall as well as gulf
views.
The seawall is about 1 mile in length. It is positioned between White Cap
Beach and the South Packery Channel Beach. This is a frequent visit for
locals and visitors looking to stroll along the beach's edge without getting
sand on their feet. Beach rentals such as umbrellas and
chairs are available along the beach here. This Nueces beach requires a
beach parking permit. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months.
Vehicle traffic is allowed on the beach in front of the seawall. It is
required to move one-way, southerly. Traffic is usually fairly light here.
Visiting or staying on or by the seawall provides easy access to several
restaurants and sports bars.
